Dean’s Letter

Personal Statement

Passing scores on your USMLE STEP 1 and COMLEX 1( with a maximum of one fail)

and in order to rank, we recommend passing scores on USMLE STEP 2 and COMLEX 2 (with no failing score).

Official Medical School Transcripts

Letters of Reference (3 or more)

Other requirements:

Have demonstrable inpatient experience and credible recommendations from an ACGME-accredited teaching hospital within the last five years.

Speak fluent English, though other language skills can be an asset. Passage of the 'English Proficiency' test for the ECFMG does not assure this level of competency.

International medical graduates must have both:

A valid ECFMG certification

U.S. citizenship, or permanent resident status.

Must have graduated medical school within the past 3 years

Visas: At this time Providence Oregon FMR does not sponsor any visas.

Additional Tips:

In order to be competitive with other applicants we require a passing score on STEP 1 or COMLEX 1 and recommend a score of >220 on STEP 2 CK or a COMLEX 2 of >410 and no failing score for STEP 2 CK or COMLEX 2.
