Underrepresented in Medicine Sub-Internship Scholarship

Two spots available/academic year

What is covered: up to $5,000/student total including:

  • Traveling expenses ie could be mileage or round trip airfare to and from PDX

  • Food, housing, local transportation for the duration of our 4 week rotation for those not living in the area already

Even if you are not rewarded a funded sub-internship for this academic year, we highly encourage you to apply for an unfunded sub-internship as we are actively seeking to increase our diverse resident and faculty body.

The AAMC definition of underrepresented in medicine is as follows: “Underrepresented in medicine means those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population.” We at the Providence Family Medicine Residency Program recognizes that diversity goes beyond the AAMC definition and we strive for an inclusive learning and work environment for all individuals.

To apply please go to our sub-internship application site (click link below) and indicate on the form that you are an underrepresented student applying for funding. Scholarships are competitive and first come first served.
